Your tasks stay on your device.

FocusMate Labs ("we," "us," or "our") provides FocusMate (the "App"). This policy explains how the App handles information.

Summary

The App helps you capture tasks, focus, build habits, and reflect — with AI that runs on your device. We do not collect, transmit, sell, rent, or share your tasks, focus sessions, habits, or coaching content.

Tasks, focus, and coaching data

The App stores tasks, focus sessions, habits, routines, check-ins, and coaching messages locally on your device using SwiftData. It uses the text or photos you provide to parse tasks and generate plans — all on-device.

On-device processing

AI coaching (Apple FoundationModels with a rule-based fallback), NLP task parsing, OCR (Vision), and timer logic run locally. Your source content and coaching messages are not sent to our servers for processing.

HealthKit (optional)

If you grant permission, the App reads selected Health data (sleep, exercise, mindfulness) to personalize routines and energy check-ins, and writes mindful minutes only when you choose to log them. You can revoke Health access at any time in Settings.

Photos, Camera, Microphone, Speech (optional)

The App accesses photos or the camera only to extract text into tasks, the microphone and speech recognition only for voice capture when you choose it, and saves QR codes to your photo library only when you tap Save. Each is gated by a system permission you can revoke.

iCloud sync (optional)

If you are signed into iCloud and enable sync, the App syncs SwiftData via CloudKit to your private iCloud container (iCloud.com.veasnayouphon.focusmate). If you are not signed in, the App stays local-only. No separate account is required. Data in iCloud is governed by Apple's iCloud terms.

Face ID (optional)

If you enable Face ID lock, the App uses Face ID only to gate access to private coaching data on your device. No biometric data leaves your device.

Crypto donations (optional)

The App can show address-only QR codes for voluntary crypto donations. No payment is processed in the App; any transaction occurs on-chain outside the App. No donation unlocks premium features.

Local app data

The App stores settings, gallery metadata, and the companion pet state (UserDefaults) locally. You can remove items in the App or delete the App to clear local data. Data export and deletion are available in Settings.

Purchases and subscriptions

Subscriptions, free trials, and Lifetime purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store via StoreKit 2. We do not receive or store your payment-card information. Apple's handling of purchase information is governed by Apple's privacy policy.

Children

The App is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to this policy
